Cork Airport (EICK) (elev. 502ft AMSL)
Cork Airport is the second busiest Irish Airport(third busiest on the island of Ireland) and is located on the South coast of Ireland.
IFR Procedures

Arrivals

 

Aircraft arriving into Cork can expect to be cleared on a STAR. Aircraft arriving into Cork will be handed over to Cork Approach (119.90) from Shannon Control. After being cleared on a STAR, Cork Approach will then clear aircraft to establish on the ILS approach for the active runway. Cork Approach will then hand off aircraft to Cork Tower (119.30) once established on the ILS. On landing, Cork Tower hands off the aircraft to Cork Ground (121.85) where ground issues a stand number and taxi route for the aircraft.

Departures

 

Aircraft departing Cork are expected to fly a Standard Instrument Departure (SID). SID data for Cork can be obtained from the charts below. Aircraft will be cleared to FL90 initially for level change. A clearence will be issued to an aircraft after the flightplan is deemed valid. Once you have readback the clearence, ground will clear you for Startup. You will then be issued a taxi instruction to the active runway, and then handed off to Cork Tower at the runway holding point for takeoff clearence. Once airbourne, Tower will hand you off to Cork Approach (119.90).

VFR Procedures (NOTE: Please consult the Cork Visual Approach Chart)
General Pilots intending to fly within the Cork CTR must have prior clearence from Cork Tower. All arrival and departure routes are strictly as instructed by Cork Tower. Controllers have the right to refuse entry to an aircraft into the CTR if they have not filed a flightplan. A Flight Information Service (FIS) can be given to pilots flying VFR OUTSIDE the CTR from Shannon Information (134.27).
