[Annual Fly-In]

Mark your calenders everyone! VATeir is pleased to announce the details of the 2010 Annual Fly-In which will take place on Saturday 7th August and start from 10am local, and will be going on until 6pm local. All controllers are invited to attend this event which will take place at the Bewleys Hotel at Dublin Airport(see details below for directions). This is a great opportunity for all VATeir members to meet up for a bit of craic, put a few faces to names, and do a bit of controlling! We would also like to extend this invitation to anyone who would like to come along and see how things are done behind the scopes and meet some of the people behind the Irish VATSIM scene.

For pilots this is also a great chance to experience Irish ATC at it's best! There will be ATC logged on all over Ireland from 10am onwards so be sure to checkout ServInfo/vroute/VATSpy or even our website(www.vateir.com) to see what ATC is online.

COST & FACILITIES
Anyone attending who intends to bring a PC or laptap with them MUST contact myself prior to the event at the following e-mail address: events[at]vateir.com as there is a limited room for those bringing PCs/laptops. The cost of the room per member attending will be no more than €20. This cost may reduce depending on turnout on the day, but members are advised to bring €20 just in case.

A paypal account has also been setup for anyone who would like to make a donation towards the overall costs of the fly-in.

Food and drink are not included in the cost of the room, so anyone attending should bring money for lunch. There are faciltiies in the hotel for eating, but there is also a free shuttle bus that will run every 30mins between the hotel and the airport, where there are several bars, cafés and restaurants to eat in.

TRANSPORT
Everyone is responsible for their own transport and getting to/from the event.

DRIVING FROM SOUTH

• Go through the West Link Toll Bridge on the M50
• Continue to the end of the M50 and at the roundabout take the 2nd exit for Malahide / N32
• At roundabout take the 1st exit
• Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport is situated on your left hand side

DRIVING FROM NORTH

• Continue on M1 past the exit for Dublin Airport
• Leave M1 at M50 exit
• Take immediate left for N32 / Malahide
• At roundabout take 1st exit
• Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport is situated on your left hand side

TAKING THE BUS

• Get any of the following buses from O'Connell Street: 16A/747*
• Take the free Bewleys shuttle bus from the arrivals area to the Bewleys Hotel

        *747 bus is direct without any stops, but is €6

• If getting the train to Heuston Station, take the 748 bus direct to Dublin Airport(€6)
• Alternatively you can take the LUAS to Abbey Street and walk to O'Connell Street to get the bus from there
