Airport - Weston (EIWT)

Weston Airport (EIWT) (elev. 155ft AMSL)
Weston Airport is Dublin's second airport and is located on the East coast of Ireland, just on the outskirts of Dublin City. It lies between the Dublin CTR and Baldonnel Military airspace. As a result of this, VFR procedures are very strict and must be adhered to at all times.
IFR Procedures

Arrivals

Aircraft arriving into Weston will be handed over to either Dublin North (129.17) or Dublin South (124.65) at FL230 from London / Shannon. Aircraft arriving from the South can expect to route direct to the TULSO intersection and aircraft arriving from the North can expect to route direct to the DINIL intersection. On reaching FL080 / FL060, Dublin North / South will hand off the aircraft to Dublin Director (121.10). Dublin Director will clear the aircraft to self-establish on the VOR approach for the active runway from either TULSO or DINIL, and handoff to Weston Tower (122.40) once the aircraft is established. On landing, Weston Tower will hand off aircraft to Weston Ground (119.42) where the aircraft will be issued a stand number and taxi route.

Departures

As Weston does not have SIDs, aircraft will be cleared direct to the first waypoint in their flightplan. A valid flightplan must be sent before requesting ATC clearence. Once an aircraft has filed a flightplan, they must request IFR clearence off Ground. Once clearence has been issued, the aircraft must read back the clearence. They will then be issued a Startup clearence, and a taxi clearence to the runway afterwards, where they will be handed off to Tower. The takeoff clearence will hold the departure frequency, and the aircraft must contact the station once airbourne. Departing aircraft do not have anything to do with Dublin Director (121.10) unless Dublin North and Dublin South are offline.

General As Weston airspace is Class C, all pilots intending to operate into/out of Weston Airport must file a flightplan. A Flight Information Service may be obtained outside Weston airspace in Class G airspace by Dublin Control(124.65 or 129.17) or on FIS channel when busy (118.50).

Arrivals

All VFR traffic arriving into Weston (or returning) from the West must be at 1500ft by Maynooth (as to not infringe on Dublin airspace). Inbound aircraft (if with Dublin) must request a frequency change to Weston by Maynooth. Once given the OK, the aircraft will contact Weston Tower (122.40) for entry instructions into the active circuit.

Departures

Start up clearence must be obtained from Weston Ground (119.42). All VFR traffic departing Weston must route WESTBOUND via the M4 motorway at 1300ft until past Maynooth. After Maynooth aircraft should contact Dublin North / South for Flight Information Service. It is important to stay to the LEFT of the M4 after departing Weston. Under no circumstances should aircraft depart to the East as they would infringe on Dublin Airspace. If an aircraft wishes to enter the Dublin CTR, they must first depart via the M4 and then contact Dublin Tower (118.60) for permission to enter the zone.

Transit Aircraft

All VFR traffic looking to enter the Dublin CTR after departure must have a flightplan filed. Once airbourne aircraft must NOT enter the Dublin CTR unless prior permission has been given by Dublin Tower (118.60). Dublin Tower will usually instruct aircraft to take the M50 route in the zone. Please consult the below diagrams for Weston VFR procedures.
