Arrivals
Aircraft arriving into Shannon can expect to be cleared on a STAR. Aircraft will be handed over to Shannon Approach (121.40) from Shannon Control. After being cleared on a STAR, Shannon Approach will then clear aircraft to establish on the ILS approach for the active runway. Aircraft will be handed off to Shannon Tower (118.70) once established on the ILS. On landing, Shannon Tower hands off the aircraft to Shannon Ground (121.80) where ground issues a stand number and taxi route for the aircraft. |
Departures
Aircraft departing Shannon are expected to fly a Standard Instrument Departure (SID). SID data for Shannon can be obtained from the charts below. Aircraft will be cleared to 5000ft initially for level change. Pilots unable to execute a SID will be routed direct to the first waypoint in their flightplan and cleared initially to FL90. A clearence will be issued to an aircraft after the flightplan is deemed valid. Once you have readback the clearence, ground will clear you for Pushback & Startup. You will then be issued a taxi instruction to the active runway, and then handed off to Shannon Tower at the runway holding point for takeoff clearence. Once airbourne, Tower will hand you off to Shannon Control. |
